Please help with CID pop-up virus

Hi there. I recently started to get these pop-ups with CID in the top left corner of the window. I deleted the CID program in my Add/Remove programs and the problem still persists. I looked it up on Google, came across this site, and registered. I was told to post my HijackThis log as an attachment here along with the problem. RealBlackStuff is the one who directed me to this posting. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and welcome to Techspot.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name(NOT THE ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT). See how HERE.

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

Bin Browse.exe
waveoptionupload.exe

Close task manager.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Click the scan button. Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [bend logo clock film] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Frag great bend logo\Bin

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [32cast] C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\APPLIC~1\MAILLO~1\waveoptionupload.exe

Click on the fix checked button.

Close HJT.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or directories(if there).

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Frag great bend logo<Delete the entire folder.
C:\DOCUME~1\Dave\APPLIC~1\MAILLO~1<Delete the entire folder.

Reboot into normal mode and rehide your protected OS files.

Now, in the interests of making sure your system is clean, please do the following.

Go and read the Viruses/Spyware/Malware, preliminary removal instructions. Follow all the instructions exactly.

Post fresh HJT, AVG Antispyware and Combofix logs as attachments into this thread, only after doing the above.

Also, let me know the results of the Panda Antirootkit scan.

three logs and thanks

Here are the three logs. My computer was fine after I deleted the objects you told me to after I sent you the initial HJT log. I went through every step anyway and appreciate your help. I use torrents a lot so am not sure about using the firewall. Thanks again.

Run this Symantec/Norton removal tool.

Your HJT and Combofix logs are clean.

Locate and delete the following bold files and/or folders(if there).

C:\Documents and Settings\Dave\My Documents\Copy of software\download\downloads\Monopoly3Setup-dm.exe
C:\downloads\Monopoly3Setup-dm.exe

Reboot your system.

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE.

Now, turn system restore back on. This will have deleted all your old restore points and any nasties that are in them. It will also have created a new, clean restore point.

If you have any further virus/spyware problems, please post in this thread.

Norton and Monopoly

Am I removing the symantec/norton because it has a virus or because it will conflict with avg? Also, the Monopoly exe file was put on here by me. McDonald's has an online Monopoly promotion right now. It remembers you when you log in every time. If I delete it will it still be the same? Thanks again.

Yes, you need to get rid of Symantec/Norton so it doesn`t conflict. It really is a very poor excuse of a programme in any case.

The Monopoly3Setup-dm.exe file was flagged by AVG Antispyware as Adware.Trymedia. While I accept this might be a false positive, it`s up to you whether you want to take that chance. Personally, I`d get rid of it.
