Problem with disk drives :\

about a week ago my power source died on me so i had to get a new one, yesterday i bought a new one and hooked it up and since then, my 2 disks arn't working. one of them will open/close but it's not there under My Computer to access it, the other one doesn't even open/close or listed under Device Manager :\. If you know how I could fix this please help

P.S sorry if this is the wrong forum, but i think it's the right one.

if you can verify the drives working
try them in another machine
be warned the other machine may want to chkdsk don't let it
I use a usb adapter to kida firewall the system
saving up for a forensics adapter 1800.00 usd
could be the machine MB is what got fried to (hope not)

I was thinking they got fried too =\, my computer was pretty dusty inside too, so I wouldn't be suprised. I'll try them on another machine tomorow when i get home
