Problems with Cs Source

Hey I took a break from playing source for a few months (1-2). When i decided to play again i patched everything up to date. I entered a game everything was running normally, no excessive ping or anything like that, but as soon as i fired whatever weapon i was using at the time the game would crash to desktop. Not sure if one of the patches caused this or if possibly my drivers are out of date. Didnt work when i created my own server either. Any help would be appreciated.

you haven't by any chance got

bind mouse1 quit

do you?

Someone did that to me in 1.6 once, and I couldn't figure it out for the longest time.

Also, driver updates/spyware/adware scans all around... it never hurts.

shouldnt have mouse1 as quit but ill check

did it work? if not, try the following

in a web browser go to:

steam://validate/240

Then rename the following folder:

c:/program files/valve/steam/steamapps/USERNAME/Counterstrike Source

to

c:/program files/valve/steam/steamapps/USERNAME/~Counterstrike Source

Then restart the game using the link below:

steam://runsafe/240

This will reset steam into its installation state...
