Hello all!

I have bought some new RAM for my Lenovo Computer. It supports up to 2GB of RAM, so i have bought 2GB. It origionally had 1GB.

When i exchange the 2 512mb modules for the 2 1GB modules the computer will boot as normal but then crash/ freeze on the desktop!

The make of the RAM is crucial, and the RAM before was crucial. (it was also recommended by crucial).

I have gone into the BIOS looking for any Memory/RAM settings aswell as voltage settings but can't find anything!

Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Josh.

My only suggestion is that the OS doesnt like it.

i once had an old PC think it was an HP, i did an upgrade on the ram like for like went from 512 to 1gb and it caused a blue screen of death.

I did a reinstall of the OS on a spare disk as a test and it worked fine...

Alright,

I have tryed the RAM in an XP home and an XP pro OS, it still doesnt work.

Too be fair i think it may be bad RAM but its brand new from Crucial so thats weird... :/

Cheers,
Josh.
