Recycle bin has vanished!

My recycle bin appears to have vanished. I'm running Win 2000 Pro, and the only thing that's changed is I upgraded to XoftSpySE after a month of nasty grams from ParetoLogic about the need to upgrade the previous version.

How do I get it back??

Looked at that thread; applies to XP and when I got down the registry key tree there was no "hidedesktopicons" or "desktop" listed. Is it worded differently for 2000?
