Russia is turning a blind eye to bootleg tech imports, including CPUs, to lessen the impact...

As a regime, they are there for past 20 years at least. Even perhaps couple years more as Shoigu was top figure in Moscow even before Putin came to power.

Your point being that dictatorship = communism? Was Pinochet a communist?

Mentally for large swathes of Russian society which never left Russia, never learned another language, read a book, spoke to people in other countries, USSR was on pause only briefly with Yeltsin presidency. I've seen many years ago how peasants were praying to Putin's painting for potatoes harvest. Especially on deep province nothing has changed. They replaced images of Tsars with Stalin and now with Putin while retaining delusions of Grand Russia which only liberates everybody.

My good Friend which died of cancer 3 years ago loved Russia and Ukraine. He traveled both far and wide. He would be so heart broken right now, perhaps it is very good he cannot see what $hitstorm Putin The Murder has unleashed.

Now you're talking about people. Why would people "change" with a political system? They would either be free to express what they couldn't or wish for the return of the old, but they'll rarely change. That happens with generations, when "new" people get the "new" stuff by default.

Russia, long term, will be fine.

Europe is going to suffer tremendously come winter.

Energy is everything.
As usually, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. For starters, look up Russia's bankrupcy after the Chechen wars. Which was a much smaller conflict with a terrotiry a fraction of Ukraine, with pretty much zero intervention from anyone. In the past decade, Russia was already recessing, now it's gonna spiral completely out of control. To make matters worse, long term their biggest customer BY FAR (I.e. EU) will replace oil and gas with renewables, making Russia lose its biggest source of income. Russia is nothing but a big petrol station that's bound to become utterly useless with the impeding BEV and RE transitions.

So yeah, Russia will do great - maybe by Somalian standards.

Why do you think Russia have been funding a war in Donbass for 8 years

Not quite. The US/CIA backed 2014 Maidan coup drove out the legally elected president of Ukraine. When the Eastern Ukrainians refused to accept the results, the new government mobilized their military to put them down. That's why there's been a war for 8 years. Putin invaded because the Ukrainian government was starting a new major offensive in the Donbass which was probably going to kill tens of thousands more East Ukrainians.

That's wishful thinking.

It's impossible for EU to replace oil and gas with renewables. It isn't just a matter of energy, petroleum is critical for many industries. You can't make plastics out of electricity. Forget energy, the EU gets 20% of their petroleum from Russia. That can't be easily replaced.

Renewables are fine as supplementary source of energy, but unless they solve the energy storage problem, they will not replace traditional sources. Germany is presently decommissioning their last Nuke plants.

The scope of Russian commodities goes far beyond petroluem and energy. Over 1/3 of all World wheat exports come from Russia and the Ukraine. Other farm products are not far behind.

Again, that’s the propaganda Russia spouts... care to back any of that up with real evidence?

Are you taking any bets? Proof seems to, ahhhh, elude them.

Hear me now and believe me later man. It won't be too long until Russia's only claim to fame will once again be Tetris and mail order wives. There aren't many countries that can't support a wheat crop. And what else they have is a joke.

"What this means is that Russian authorities will now turn a blind eye to unofficially imported goods and intellectual property theft."

Russia has already announced that they will be actively reverse engineering any foreign tech they can get ahold of specifically to reproduce stolen IP.

True. Russia has depended on Boeing, Microsoft, Apple, and a myriad of other Western corporations. Since these corporations reneged on their service contracts, the Russians literally have no choice but to create their own service alternatives. That means reverse engineering. This also means that all patents, copyrights and other intellectual property are potentially up for grabs.

Putin intervened so he could grab the Krim. Now he wants land access to the Krim via Mariupol.

Remove cirylic alphabet off processors, microprocessors instructions and add "killer" devices inside goods that will detect its position and first boot it will burn in flames, just like those messages that destruct itself in five seconds.

The Russian ruble has reached a 6 month high against the US dollar.

The Russian ruble has reached a 6 month high against the US dollar.
It crashed after the invasion... now has recovered - mostly due to the fact that Russia has a law that any local Russian company that does business outside the country must convert 80% of their revenue into Rubles...

But a strong currency does not necessarily mean a a strong country...

Sounds like you didn't know it would. But just you? Maybe.

And yes, I know you will ignore dozens of factors against and pull one positive and try to beat everyone over the head with it. So good luck. At least you now have all the facts so far. I think I know what you will do with them.

But then our heroic Ukrainian allies wouldn't be able to use them. Or the Bulgarians.

It was always going to be the case...the moment sanctions were announced, the people who make money from bypassing them, only saw one thing, $$$$

Of course while the goods will still be on Russian shop shelves, the question is will anyone but the rich be able to afford any of it, given all middle men and mark ups they're going to go through before reaching the consumer.
And no warranties for all of the beta stage products out there.

Sure; if you define "fine" as going back to the first years of Russia after the USSR; then they will be "fine". But this time around I doubt that anyone of the Western counties will help them improve their economy by showering them with intellectual property and money as they did back then. This time around the future contracts for energy supply (which the EU does need) will only be signed at a heavily discounted selling price.
