Ryzen 5 3600 vs. R5 2600: GPU Scaling Benchmark Test

Here are your benchmarks, that i5 its at the bottom of the table quite often

This is the video I'm more interested in. Gaming is just fine with an i5 in 2019/20:

Again, certain games likely do show some significant gains with a new CPU, but not the ones I play (not the console-ish FPS games).

Yes... but his point is that he's only going to be upgrading ONE of those (CPU or GPU) and for the cash, clearly the GPU is the thing to do - although honestly, he can almost certainly afford to wait and upgrade NEITHER.

Remember, to upgrade the CPU also means upgrading the motherboard, RAM, cooler... much costlier than a few hundred bucks on a GPU.

And my point is that with that CPU he wont see much of an improved so either start with the cpu or wait and do it all at once plus GPU is $400+ if he was to sell what he has now ( motherboard, CPU and RAM ) and add this his budget he could easly get new hardware that's ready for next upgrades and still have change left :)

About the most useful/interesting thing to test, would be the effect of pcie 4 on an rx 5700 in a gpu cache maxed situation- but u dont even mention the mobo used.

I've just bought the Ryzen 2600 and I could have afforded the 3600 as my motherboard will cope. However, my gpu was a gtx 750ti which will certainly hold the ryzen back (the gtx 750 was paired with a g3258 and both were haswell based so perfectly matched)

For my ryzen 2600 I've ordered a gtx super oc 1660ti gpu, because all I'm interested in right now is decent 1080p gaming.

So the reason I didnt go for the 3600 ryzen was because I probably would have to upgrade the gpu to a 2060 super or better.

When I see the comments on here for the guy with the i5 and 1070 gpu it reminds me of my situation. Instead of trying to decide to upgrade CPU or GPU he's better off staying as he is and later changing Both! In my opinion his 1070 is more than adequate for his i5 and I cant see where his gains would be throwing his cash only at a better GPU.

To defend his i5, they still seem pretty good for 1080p gaming!

Hi Staff,

I think the "far cry new dawn 1080p ultra" charts appear twice and the second one should be the 1440p medium?

or my eyes are tricking me? :D :D
