Hello, I'm Brian and I just registered to seek some help. I have a problem with my Macbook's Safari. I used Google Chrome as my main browser, but the problem is that Safari keeps on popping up. I tried to force quit but it's not enough and it even hinders me from restarting my laptop. What should I do?

Safari is the Default Browser! Here's how to change that:
    1. Open Safari (yes, open Safari even if you want to use another app as your default browser)
    2. Pull down the 'Safari' menu and choose to open 'Preferences' (or just hit command-,)
    3. Click the 'General' tab.
    4. Choose the default web browser you would prefer to use.
    5. Quit Safari, and you're done.

For most browsers, you can improve and make them more secure with a simple:
  • clear history
  • delete cache
  • clear all cookies
This is much safer that running some 'cleaner' who's operation and effects are not documented or even knowable.
