In brief: Samsung has introduced its new Galaxy Tab S9 series consisting of three models across a range of screen sizes and price points. The standard Galaxy Tab S9 packs an 11-inch panel but if you want something bigger, the 12.4-inch screen on the Tab S9+ or the 14.6-inch panel of the Tab S9 Ultra might be a better fit. All are dynamic AMOLED 2X screens with 120Hz refresh rates driven by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and Adreno 740 graphics with ray tracing.

Memory and storage configurations vary depending on model. The entry level Galaxy Tab S9, for example, comes standard with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage but can be bumped up to 12 GB / 256 GB. The top tier Ultra variant typically ships with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage but can be configured with up to 16 GB of memory and 1 TB of space for an added fee.

Samsung's latest also carry IP68 ratings across the board as well as USB Type-C 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity, quad speaker systems tuned by AKG, on-screen fingerprint readers, and run Android 13 out of the box. The smallest of the bunch weighs 1.10 pounds with an 8,400 mAh battery, we are told. The mid-range Galaxy Tab S9+ checks in at 1.3 pounds with a 10,090 mAh battery, and the Ultra tips the scales at 1.62 pounds while packing an 11,200 mAh battery.

All three tablets additionally pack capable camera systems including at least one 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera up front. The S9+ additionally includes an 8-megapixel ultra-wide around back, and the S9 Ultra has a second 12-megapixel ultra-wide in front.

Samsung's new Galaxy Tab S9 tablets are available to pre-order from today in your choice of beige or graphite color schemes. Pricing is set at $700 for the standard S9, $999 for the S9+, and $1,199 for the S9 Ultra. Look for them to ship starting August 11.

For me its note taking, media consumption, travel pc, image pre-processing (from digital camera), and tool to test own apps and running own apps. And some games as well, it is possible to get smth decent for travelling time. But I guess steam deck would be better, still, sd screen is not good for other use.

Their tablet business seems interesting. Obviously, they cannot sell as many tablets as their phones. What is the point releasing them so often. Or maybe because they are pretty much larger phones, there is no need to put much money into development.

Have had one of these series since they first came out but the prices of these will be prohibitive, especially since you can get a pretty good multi-mode laptop for the same, if not cheaper ....
