hi all
here is a good one for you guys.
I recently purchased a Sandisk cruiser micro U3 8GB
all my computers have xp pro with sp3 all of them.
It works like a charm on all but one.
i installed a pci 2.0 card in my k7mnf-64 that has been my most recent project.
Its a decent little computer. I really haven't had any problems with it...until I
decided to use my flash drive.
it does OK until i choose to safely remove hardware.
I click on the check mark, choose to stop mass storage device, then my
computer reboots.
It only does this when i select to stop it.
everything that i have looked up says its sp3 causing the problem.
If so why does it not have a problem with other computers all have sp3.
i run my printer on the pci 2.0. My mouse is usb but I plug it into the board
usb. The flash drive wont even function on the board usb.
it doesn't completely freeze it up but it slows it down to an almost stop and
once again try to safely remove everything stops responding in task manager
so I choose to shut down option it starts shutting down and i don't know if its hanging up on windows is shutting down, or i'm just not willing to wait a hour for
it to shut down.
Power off by holding down on button and remove it, power up and its good
to go. Also when it crashes it on the 2.0 card if i remove it when it has the
black screen before logo come up it works just fine.
Have any ideas besides taking a hammer to the flash drive?
i store allot of stuff on these things.up till now they have been the greatest
thing for storage since the CD.
thanks
oh yeah I've also used it with the pci 2.0 card in all other computers but laptop of course with no problem.
