  1. Hi

I'm need a little help setting up my hard disks. I have a Maxtor 320g SATAII hard disk as my main disk running vista on a ASUS AM2 mobo and I'd like to add my two IDE hard disk, 1 a 160g Seagate and a 120g Maxtor. I've also got a DVD writer set as secondary master.

I want to add the two other hard disks but when I connect them its only finding one.

I've got the 160g set as a slave which it finds both in the bios and through my computer but it doesn't find the 120g one which is set as master.

Is that the right way to do it or is there something else I need to do?

go to start> run and type in diskmgmt.msc

See if you can see your two other drives there. You may need to go and format them to make it visible on "My computer"

    What is your primary master?

Here is how I'd set it up and use as boot order:
Primary Master -> DVD Drive (set jumper master)
Primary Slave -> 160g Seagate (set jumper slave)
Secondary Master -> 120g Maxtor (set jumper master)
