Scientists discover an amphibian gut bacterium 100% effective in destroying cancer cells in rats

Socialism is doing just fine in nordic countries. In fact, thriving. Purely being one or the other is problematic. Folks just throw socialism, communism, etc around without even knowing what it means.

The USA is already very socialist for example but the folks screaming how evil socialism is probably never graduated 3rd grade.

Veitnam and China is also doing great under communism. Its not the failure you make it out to be. It didnt last many times because there was political and military resistance to it.
Hey remember when the Nordic countries called out Bernie Sanders for saying they were socialist, clarifying they were capitalist, not socialist, and dunking on Americans for not knowing the difference?

Yeah, good times.
But if there were a technology or cure-for-all cancer pill. The person/people holding that would disappear or be in the obituaries overnight. The Pharma industry is worth trillions of dollars globally. You'd need some huge backers to go against them.

I rather like my approach better. Don't release the information for peer review, or announce any news of your findings. Better to distribute the information about the technology/cure to every corner of the internet. Extremely difficult to control information online.
Your theory makes no sense. Cancer research is spread around millions of people in over a hundred countries globally. Suggesting these researchers are all being taken out by hit squads because they know of a magic pill is straight up lunacy.

Nothing is kept secret. Hell, look at Red Lung. The leaks over the Wuhan lab. Even in a time of crisis, with the origin being a totalitarian dictatorship, and countries actively trying to suppress information (taiwan warning of the disease back in December and not being allowed to speak by the WHO, social media actively censoring dissent that we have proof of thanks to the Twitter leaks) that information came out.

Do you REALLY, HONESTLY think a disease like Cancer, which every country has a vested interest in curing, which has been worked on by thousands of institutions, has been able to keep this cure under wraps from the hundreds of millions with a literal life or death interest in it for the last 50+ years?

Reeeeealy? It's a belief that is not only ignorant but is also offensive to anyone who has had to suffer through the disease, directly or indirectly.

In reality: Cancer is a very complicated disease. There are over 200 forms, and because it is a mutated strand of DNA that causes it, it is different in every patient. From our genetic makeup, to how our immune system functions, to how we metabolize poison, everything is individual. This isnt a bacteria that is the same infection in 10 million people or even something like 'Rona where a set of mutating strains spread rapidly, it is a highly individualistic disease that reacts differently in everyone. That is an actual nightmare to treat, let alone cure, and people would rather come up with bizarre conspiracies involving shadowy organizations rather than admit its a terrifying disease that we currently cant guarantee a fix for, and since we have gotten so used to curing everything, a disease we cant cure hits like a freight train.

And as far as Capitalism is concerned, Capitalism is inherently not the problem.

Someone far smarter than I once said that if Capitalism isn’t kept in check, it will eventually eat itself. What we’re seeing now is Capitalism without its necessary guardrails.

A lineshaft steam engine without a governor will go faster and faster until it destroys itself. Same phenomenon that we're seeing with Capitalism.

Nordic countries literally rely on socialist welfare systems to keep a baseline of living for its citizens.

Nothing lives in absolutes, nobody is truly socialist or capitalist. Its always some form of combination.

"There isn't a single list of "socialist democracies," as the term blends socialist goals (social welfare, equality) with democratic governance, often seen in
Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland) and Western European nations (Germany, Portugal, Netherlands), which practice strong social democracies with market economies."

Good times when we have to explain that. Saying Nordic countries dont use socialism is just plain out wrong and false. They might not call themselves socialist but their entire economy and welfare system is based on it so... I stand by my statement.

The USA is partly socialist too for many aspects.

The conversation is much more nuanced than "nordic countries claiming to be capitalist so they are not socialist". Its fun dunking on folks who dont get it though, I agree.

I am with you on the cancer dumb stuff though, just like COVID. There is not a massive conspiracy that every Dr and health institution in the world across every country is in on. Thats absurd.

Capitalism is falling to the exact thing that socialists complain about and fear. The wealth is hoarded and they now control the government. Its no longer about the people. Its about wealth transfer to the top and stripping all socialist policies that help anyone that isnt ultra wealthy.

Any system that puts profit above anything else is doomed from the get go. The only reason the USA has lasted this long is we had strong controls and government to prevent abuse. Now that the bar has been lifted and abuse is running rampant, we the people are suffering for it and falling victim to capitalism with skyrocketing health care costs, inflation, unaffordable education, etc. While the rest of the world laughs at the wealthiest country in the nation that cant even afford to take care of its citizens in any meaningful way the way other much much much poorer countries do.

We are making the guilded age look like childs play right now.

No, big pharma would just purchase it and make a fortune distributing it… mankind isn’t immortal - if cancer doesn’t kill is, some other disease will… and big pharma will be researching cures/treatments for that…

There is no reason for anyone to “cover up” a cure for cancer!

You and theinsanegamer must live in the same house 🙄 - I don't know how many times I've seen a news article, tv segment, YouTube clip, etc with convincing suggestion that a breakthrough in some treatment/cure has arrived and that people live with x/y disease will either live a better life or be disease free. It ends up being total bullsh#$!

I'm not big on conspiracies. Money = action, talk = cheap! Pharma has more power and influence then you'll ever know about.

Ever heard of the iceberg theory? What you see above is a fraction of what is unseen below.

Your theory makes no sense. Cancer research is spread around millions of people in over a hundred countries globally. Suggesting these researchers are all being taken out by hit squads because they know of a magic pill is straight up lunacy.

Not every country around the world has the infrastructure to do complex cancer research. There would not be many places either, through history that have suggested a cure.

Do you REALLY, HONESTLY think a disease like Cancer which every country has a vested interest in curing, which has been worked on by thousands of institutions, has been able to keep this cure under wraps from the hundreds of millions with a literal life or death interest in it for the last 50+ years?

😂 Turning this into a personal attack is petty on your part. I had several family members pass from cancer. I understand how serious it is!

Pharmaceuticals have always been about money, power and control! If you don't see that, I'm sorry I can't help with your naivety.

Don't forget countries/governments are run by the corporations not by the people.

Again, WHY would big pharmaceutical want to cover up a cure for cancer?!?

They’d make a bloody fortune selling it… there are plenty of diseases (and drugs to treat them) that they can continue to make money off of… curing cancer would make more money than viagra!

Let’s also not forget that the great thing about scientific advances is that they’re peer reviewed… no one could hide a cure for cancer even if they wanted to!

Yes the $$$ is in the research and treating
Also, we don't need more people living longer. Planet is already overpopulated.

You’re kidding right? Have you driven through the US alone? Vast swathes of empty and unoccupied land. In fact, several years ago there was a research article that showed the entire world’s population could fit into the state of Texas.

Overpopulation is a Committee of 300 and Bilderberg Group conspiracy, designed to push the depop agenda and promote resource scarcity and impose limits thereon, like claiming oil is dinosaur-juice.

Then you really don't understand the concept of human greed.

Think about it, if a company could sell you indefinite treatments that ultimately brings in guaranteed income, why would they stop doing that? If their CEO suddenly said they had a cure, an actual cure for cancer and not just treatments, their stockholders and board of directors would absolutely crucify that CEO. Not only would that CEO be without a job by the end of the week, but that CEO would literally be dead.

It's the same damn concept that's leading to the idea of "software as a service." It's the same damn concept that's leading to the idea of "You will own nothing, and you will like it."

I really hate typing this kind of post out, I really do. But if there's anything that I understand the most, it's human nature. I for one have absolutely lost faith in humanity to do anything good in this world. I have absolutely no faith left. None.

When I die, I swear to God that the first thing I'd do when I meet Saint Peter at the Pearly Gates is to ask for an audience with God and ask why the actual f**k didn't He keep at least a light leash on humanity. You know, one that can be used to just yank us, slightly, back in line.

I understand the concept behind free will. God wanted us to be able to love Him not because He wanted us to, He wanted us to love him because we wanted to love Him. In my time on Earth, I've come to realize that free will is overrated.

And before anyone asks, a lot of people have hurt me—too many to count.

Calling this “capitalism without guardrails” is just a way to avoid naming the actual problem, regulatory capture and monopolization.

What we’re seeing isn’t markets running wild...it’s markets being rigged by a small number of players who write the rules in their favor. That isn’t a steam engine without a governor, it’s an engine where the owners removed the governor on purpose and locked everyone else out of the control room.

This reads less like insight into human nature and more like despair wrapped in conspiracy. Yes, people can be selfish. No, that doesn’t mean the world is run by cartoon villains murdering CEOs for curing cancer. If that were true, cures would never happen...yet they do, repeatedly, across history.

Losing faith in humanity doesn’t make the argument true...it just explains why the argument feels convincing.

Get back to reality for a second. Media hype failing to pan out isn’t proof of hidden cures or shadowy suppression...it’s proof that most research doesn't work. That’s not corruption, that’s the scientific process. Promising early data dies in clinical trials all the time, and it does so publicly.

“Money = action” actually argues against your point. A real cure would be the single most profitable, defensible, and reputation making product on the planet. Someone would ship it immediately and bury every competitor.

The “iceberg theory” isn’t evidence...it’s just vibes standing in for facts. You don’t reveal what’s under the surface, you just imply it must exist because you don’t trust the system. Skepticism is fine. Replacing reality with implication isn’t.

Then you really don't understand the concept of human greed.
Yes I do - they'd make MORE money selling a cure. Your theory only works if there's only one disease killing us - cancer is only one of many... and there are DIFFERENT TYPES OF CANCER!!

Your theory also assumes only one pharma company... you might hate capitalism but one of it's strengths is competition. If Pfizer "hid" a cure for example, Novonordisk would then sell it instead! No company would therefore do this since they'd fear a rival profiting from it!

Science doesn't happen in a vacuum - each company has access to the same research - and it's generally a race as to who can develop a cure/treatment drug first. Hence Viagra/Cialis - which compete against each other and basically do the same thing. No company would withhold a cure for cancer fearing (justifiably) that another one would start selling it instead!

Microsoft gets away with this because they have a monopoly... no one else makes an OS that people use (sorry linux, you're irrelevant here) on their PCs... same with Android and iOS/MacOS...

Fortunately, "big tech" isn't responsible for our healthcare...

Capitalism was designed to use the "bad parts" of human nature and use them to advance human society. Is it perfect? Of course not. Any system relying on human greed can't be... but... it's the best system we have - and by using government regulation and competition, it actually works pretty well. Look at "non-capitalist" countries and you'll realize how good we have it!

Remember the Covid outbreak?
The various Covid vaccines all came out within months from different companies (notably Pfizer/Moderna) as they all were desperate to profit from this (and, if you're less cynical, save humanity). Without capitalism, there's no way we'd have had a vaccine that fast - and we'd have had to remain under lock down for months or even years longer...

The world's not as bad as you think - stop listening to sensational media telling you the world is going to hell in a hand basket. It's NOT!
The global standard of living is INCREASING - has been for centuries and will continue to do so.

You just don't see a news story like "person goes to work, goes home, tucks their kids into bed at night" but if it WAS news, we'd have a problem :)

I really hate this stupid conspiracy theory. You guys do know there is a world outside the USA right? 99% of the world doesnt have for profit healthcare. Everywhere, and I mean EVERYWHERE else, Cancer is a massively expensive and horrible disease to treat, a cure that doesnt disable people would be vastly preferred.

And in case you didnt bother to read the article, this research is being done in JAPAN, not the USA.
How many diseases has pfizer cured in the past 100 years?

The only conspiracy is that some people refuse to see the obvious: there is no money to be made in cures.

Those Convid 'vaccines' had already been developed and were waiting for release, Bourla himself admitted that they were prepared for the plandemic.

Everything you've said comes directly from the lying media and is incorrect.

That claim falls apart the moment you check actual timelines instead of Facebook screenshots.

mRNA platform research existed for decades...that’s not the same thing as having a finished COVID vaccine “waiting for release.” The SARS CoV 2 genome wasn’t published until January 2020, which is when vaccine design even became possible.

Bourla never said Pfizer had COVID vaccines stockpiled before the virus existed. What he said publicly, on record, is that Pfizer had manufacturing capacity and mRNA tech ready, which allowed them to move fast once the sequence was known. That’s called preparedness, not a “plandemic.”

Also, “lying media” isn’t an argument...it’s a coping mechanism. If everything disagreeing with you is fake, you never have to prove anything.

If you’ve got an actual quote where Bourla admits vaccines were made before COVID existed, feel free to post it. Not a meme. Not a YouTube clip. The real clinical source.

“How many diseases has Pfizer cured?” is a loaded question that misunderstands how medicine works.

Most diseases aren’t single switch problems with a permanent “cure.” Smallpox was eradicated by vaccines and global coordination, not a magic pill. Polio, measles, tetanus, diphtheria....massively reduced the same way. That’s prevention, not a Hollywood style cure.

Pfizer (and others) helped develop antibiotics, vaccines, antivirals, and cancer therapies that turned once fatal diseases into manageable or preventable ones. If you’re alive past childhood, odds are modern pharma played a role.

“There’s no money in cures” also doesn’t survive basic economics. A real cure would be one of the most profitable products ever made, patents, licensing, global demand. Companies race each other for that exact reason.

The real conspiracy is pretending chronic disease is simple, biology is easy, and millions of scientists worldwide are colluding perfectly without leaks...but only Facebook figured it out.

Correct, mRNA injections were experimented with for decades but never released because of 100% mortality rate in lab rats. It takes decades to develop new injections and yet they had tens of millions of doses ready within months.

Cognitive dissonance is far easier than accepting that the media and governments lie and I don't need to prove anything, all those people dropping dead after taking the injections is proof enough.

Considering I got severe allergies after being 'vaccinated' I have yet to see proof that these poisonous injections actually do anything other than vaccinate you against a long and healthy life. But as you are an adherent of big pharma you can explain why they put fruit extracts in these injections.

That is just blatantly false - try coming up with some real evidence… Covid was not a hoax or conspiracy…

If those vaccines killed people… how come we didn’t have a mass humanity extinction - since hundreds of millions (possibly billions) of people have been vaccinated ? Why aren’t they all dead?
Do some research and stop spouting nonsense…
