So you only have PCI slots and want to game?

If I can't average 30 FPS, I can really see the choppiness, so 30+ FPS avg is my personal goal, which I doubt Tha General sees much of.

Every game i have tested so far or have install, i get way above 30, more like 40-50, or 80-200fps. Crysis is the only game i play which plays poorly, to a point at high settings. Also i am using vista, which is way more demanding than xp.

One example on how my performance is great , Quake 4( which old btw ) at the highest quality, at 1280x1024, max settings with AAX8, i get between 30-50fps.

Devil may cry, high to highest at 1280x1024, no aa, 20-40. Should i keep going? You forget i am not using my Pentium III anymore. My new rig is pretty good, will be even better once i buy the 4550 gddr3 card and the 9500gt gddr3 card. But IMO, 20 - 30fps is perfect to me, even tho i get way more.

Your results were always questionable, since I've demonstrated, repeatedly, they were not attainable with the 8500GT PCI and a more powerful processor.

They are still questionable.

But i am not using my pentium III anymore haha
i have a new rig if you didn't know. not the greatest of course, but way better than my p3 and games are working very good. Crysis and a few other ones give me trouble at higher resolutions and settings, but thats only because i am using Vista and pci card. If i was using xp and the same pci cards, i am sure the performance will be better. Thats why i am moving on to pcie cards with this rig, because when i play crysis i want to play at 1280x1024 high settings or very high and still get between 15-25frames

But i am not using my pentium III anymore haha

Known fact. And the test system I tested it on eats your current system for lunch.

I can run the same tests on my Core i7 920 at 4Ghz, but I won't bother, since nothing will make you claim anything more reasonable.

That doesn't really matter. Your results are nowhere near this guy's results.

And apparently TS isn't the only place you've been spouting your nonsense. You have quite the reputation as $till LegendaryU2K on lots of other forums like Guru3D and Overclock.net. For those of you who are interested, this post shows how much he has spent on PCI cards so far.

This has to be the most unexpected entry I've found though. Who would've thought? ;)

um i am pretty much everywhere online, been that way since 99. Um my myspace has all my aliases listed. http://myspace.com/untouchable2k

But rage, what is your point, you saying with the rig i have now, that benchmark that i did was fake? 1280x1024 all low, aax2 , 8400gs?
Here is another photo, nothing great, but this is also at 1280x1024 aax2, low to medium to gamer, with my 8400gs using the 175.16 drivers.

That urban dictionary link is hilarious, lol @ mental disability.

Anyway. I'd say delete the last 20 pages of this thread and lets get back to basics, instead of trying to convince people that 16-24 fps is acceptable, especially when you're sitting still with no real action going on.

Seconded, especially Tha General's "Hey, look, I got another weakling video card for way too much money, I r0xx0r" posts.

I think Tha General's PCI card updates are useful as no one else cares what is happening in the PCI card world and the new releases would completely miss me otherwise. As to his infamous benchmarks which no one believes, that is hard to deal with, especially since there is no way I could get the same results with the same setup.

No offense to Tha General, but that urban dictionary entry was freakin' hilarious. That actually wasn't too far from the truth as he doesn't like my suggestions for a respectable PC setup either. I have been long aware of his other aliases on other forums and they all disdain him just like here. I want to believe that Tha General/$till Legendary is merely a misguided soul, but he should lay low with his undying dedication to PCI cards because it really looks bad. He doesn't really flame anyone, so I don't flame him.:approve:

I am under the impression that Yukikaze is the former Direwolf007 if I am not mistaken? You were the one running the benchmarks with the 8500GT on the dual core? Those were good tests, but they might have really hit home if you ran the exact same tests Tha General did on his PIII and posted the results so everyone could see your dual core getting lower results than what he claims on his PIII.

My alias is Teklord on all tech forums, in 1337 or otherwise, FYI. My goal is to make relevant posts and not land in the urban dictionary myself. :grinthumb

I've played through entire games (Dungeon Siege, Call of Duty) on Intel Extreme Graphics w/an Intel Celeron averaging 2 FPS, and Tha General's setups remind me of that.

Yes, that would be me. Well, I have a PIII 1.4Ghz overclocked to 1.55Ghz running an AGP HD2400Pro. I can run the same tests there (To even show a similar platform), but I won't really bother. My existing results with the 3.9Ghz E5200 are sufficient to show he's not making sense. If I tried to run Crysis on "Medium-High" (or anything other than low for that matter) on that card it'd choke and not get anywhere over 16FPS, which is the average on LOW settings, and that isn't playable either.

go take some screenshots of crysis warhead, where there is actually some action, instead of taking national geographic screenshots.

Everyone read this for my latest benchmark

Still think i am lying?

To keep it short ? Yes.

When I benchmarked the 8500GT PCI on my 3.9Ghz E5200 I averaged the gameplay of over 10 minutes of game time. Once you do the same, instead of taking a pic showing a local average which is convenient for you, your results might begin to make sense.

You are NOT running Crysis on your settings with 2xAA at 1280x1024 and getting those results, for the simple reason more powerful systems don't get that kind of FPS. The only reasonable conclusion is that you're sugar-coating your results.

PCIGamer, have some fun and stop whining. Someone could of been closed the thread, but every now and then someone may pop up and say i want to buy a pci card lol, haven't seen anyone do that in a while, but hey nothing wrong with me telling people what new cards has come out and there is nothing wrong for me or anyone else to post benchmarks, despite everyone saying i am lying, which i am not.

Yukikaze:

A single core 2.4ghz computer with a 8400gs or 2400 gets those accurate results in crysis and warhead, i am not editing photos or whatever whatever, but you can believe what you like.

What ever happen to that program that you ran which showed your ave fps at 7 throughout the demo. I know you're posting what you see, but computers done lie(much) with results. Doesnt crysis have a program in which it calculates your average fps over x amount of time?

No it isn't. Never did. Never will.

You're not editing, you're just cherry picking.

I've proven your results to be false, end of story. I'll just keep reminding of that fact from time to time so that people do not get misled by your posts.

Still think i am lying? i am recording at 1024x768 gamer to mainstream to low settings, using a custom 3450 config card. Look at the fps counter also. Now at 1280x1024 i get around 18-30fps. with aax2 low to medium, at 1024x768 medium to low, aax2 i get around 20-37fps.

Hey teklord someone over at guru3d who also game with pci, just bought a evga 9400gt, so i will see the gpu-z soon. :) He is replacing his pny 8400gs.

Uhh, i watched the clip, you spent most of your fps at that resolution around 10ish fps, even as low as 8.6 at one point. If you recorded at 1024x768. How can you say you get higher fps on an even higher resolution. That's completely backwards.

Around to 10-15fps in the video, it drops from around 30, to around 10-15 when recording at 1024x768 medium to low. I remember when playing at 800x600 and i get between 30-55fps and it drop to around 11 or something when recording. my guess, because of how weak the 8400gs is when running crysis.
