Some OS and Hardrive questions

Ok, I have a 250gb SATA hardrive and a copy of the uprgade version of windows vista basic. Right now on this computer I am running a legal version of windows xp pro that could run windows vista easilly, but I am also trying to build another computer. Does anyone have any strategies on how to upgrade windows xp to vist on my IDE hardrive, then transfer it to the SATA hardrive for the newer computer? I mean if I can't find out I will just wait till I get my new computer squared away, then install XP, not register it then upgrade to windows vista, but I was just wondering if there was a way. Any input?

no can do. You can ONLY run XP on the motherboard/system it was loaded on as it configures itself as such.

Trying to transfer a copy of XP on more than 1 system is a violation of the license agreement and piracy.
