Sony stops making 8K TVs, but ultra high-def cameras remain key to future

Common knowledge and common sense are not something anyone has to prove up. Seeing the difference between them is something only someone with very poor eyesight can't do.
Again… not at the mentioned sizes or distances… and if there is an argument over ANYTHING, you need to prove your point or admit it’s wrong…
Not at all. I like the sound they produce. But science fact is science fact. LPs do not have the same audio frequency range as CDs and other digital media. That is known science and technological fact. It is not refutable.
Well, I agree that they aren’t the same… but my point was that people who think LPs are superior are wrong…

you seem to be arguing AGAINST analogue LPs….
CD sampling @44 Khz provides approximately the same audible frequency range as a vinyl recording. However, where the CD excels, is in both dynamic range and signal to noise ratio.

The noise floor on a CD is -90 Db or so. It's dynamic range follows suit.

With an LP, the noise floor' is about -65 Db. Therefore, excessive compression must be applied to accommodate this limitation.

FWIW, and further off topic, when Dolby noise reduction was introduced, people perceived its sound as "dull". The reason being people can't really tell the difference between noise and music in the upper registers.

Also "noteworthy", the "night mode" on most Blu-ray players is a compressor being kicked in to raise the volume in the vocal range, and damp it down during the explosions and such.

Well, I agree that they aren’t the same… but my point was that people who think LPs are superior are wrong…
Superior can be a very subjective idea. I was not making that distinction. Only that frequency response and dynamic range go hand in hand. Digital media has a greater frequency response by default, which then leads directly to a greater dynamic range. Digital media can hit higher highs and lower lows(barely) than that which the technology of an LP can ever hope to achieve and such is clearly audible to the listener.

This brings us right back to the above point: The differences between 1080p and 4k are distinct and perceptible, even at distance. While the observer can't see individual pixels at distance, any distance within that of common use(home or office) will easily show a difference. 4k to 8k? Not as noticeable, if at all.

No, it doesn't. Your understanding of how those technology's work is in need of revision.

8K will never be mainstream unless it's get so cheap there's no reason not to do it. The difference between 4k and 8k is totally negligible in terms of what our eyes can precieve.
They said that about HD, 4k, cruise control, fiber internet, etc. List goes on and on.
Hell, at one point the "internet" was never going to go main stream and it was only for loosers.

Technology will always move on. I would avoid saying things like "x will never be mainstream". If you do, please hold yourself accountable.

And they were right… it wasn’t until HD was cheap enough for people to buy that it became widespread… same with cruise control - it’s simply a standard option on most cars now … fiber is getting there too…

Needless to say, that’s also the same with the internet…

He didn’t say “never”. He said “never UNTIL”…
It behooves one to read (and understand) someone’s comment before bashing it…

Yes, they are. Anyone with eyes and reasonable vision can confirm that.
I provided evidence…
Your "evidence" didn't prove your stance. That RGB.com link only showed numbers on a graph and cited a random website. There was zero supporting science or research to back it up. It did nothing to show real world visual perception.
please feel free to provide some for your argument or stop posting…
No. Don't need to prove something that is commonly known, and I'll respond as I please.

Your right, it would behoove you to read.

Let me quote it.

Anything else or do we need to get into a conversation about how English works deeper?

Your gotchya is a failed attempt at trying to take down what I said. Perhaps try reading first instead of responding.

And it wasnt "bashing". It was a response, thats how conversations work.

You failed to provide the quote YOU were arguing against. Here:

“8K will never be mainstream unless it's get so cheap there's no reason not to do it. The difference between 4k and 8k is totally negligible in terms of what our eyes can precieve.”

That you fail to see where you went wrong is only damning of your own comprehension abilities…

I dont think you understand reading comprehension pal.

Im not here to debate you about your strawman argument. There is nothing in my response that coincides with your moronic response.

He says:
"8k will never be mainstream unless it's get so cheap there's no reason not to do it".

I said (read my first sentence genius). Second sentence is a progress to the argument and me providing objective facts to validate what I am saying. This seems lost on you because you are too interested in arguing for the sake of arguing:

Try reading first. You are arguing something you dont even read. "X will never be mainstream" is a dumb take. It will be mainstream someday as tech progresses. Even before its so cheap that theres no reason not to do it. All it needs is to become more affordable.

Hold yourself accountable too.

Not only that, its not bashing him. Its just proving you are so triggered that you dont understand English that you have to argue something you are completely wrong about.

Move on guy. You have nothing to add here.

You didn't understand the ORIGINAL post... the meaning was not "8k will never happen"... it was "8k will never happen UNLESS..."

Your response was to mention a bunch of stuff that people said would "never" happen... the thing is, those things (HD, internet, cruise control, etc) came to the masses because of the same reasons - they became cheap/common...

You felt like arguing with the original post (and mine) when in fact you were saying the SAME THING.

Hence my comment to try and understand what you are arguing against before you argue...

My response was "All these other things people said the same for".

What is so hard to understand about this?

When you say "X will never happen unless..." hold yourself accountable.

this isnt hard bud.

I didnt argue with anyone, you are the one that came here looking for an argument. I simply stated, folks said the same blah blah about all this and that wasnt the reality.

History will tell us how this works. I dont need a "trust me bro" from someone on the internet.

You just aren't understanding here... he said "8k won't happen unless..."

Your examples of stuff to refute him didn't refute him - they just reinforced what he said...

The argument of "8k will never happen" has not been made... I suspect everyone understands that it will happen at some point - just not in the "few years" that many companies had assumed.

The point that "well, people scoffed at the internet, HD, etc" is NOT a valid one here as the companies at those times DIDN'T scoff at HD/Internet/Cruise Control... they simply realized (correctly) that those things wouldn't become mainstream until market conditions/technology changed.

An example for you:

The tech for "HD TVs" has existed for decades - but could only become mainstream once it was cheap enough to mass-produce, and the underlying technologies (high-speed internet, fast cable, etc) were developed enough to support it. "normal people" might have scoffed at HD back in the early 2000s, but the only companies who "scoffed" were the ones who just realized it would take longer to develop than they had the resources for at the moment. Anyone who actually watched something in HD vs SD (especially sports) realized fairly quickly that it was clearly going to be the future.

Fact is, its not always related to cost.

Folks just dont adopt new things.

Cruise control for example.

Arguing in absolutes is just setting you up for failure.

And yes, I am somewhat reinforcing what he said, you just want to argue about it for ego reasons.

Fact is, its not always related to cost.
Never said it did - its just one of the variables
Folks just dont adopt new things.
They do though - we call it progress… there are always a few who scoff at it, but eventually they acquiesce…
Cruise control for example.
Cruise control has been standard in most cars since the 70s - when oil started to become expensive, people were happy for anything that would save them a few cents at the pumps… there were very few people who scoffed at it even then - and pretty
much no one does nowadays…
Arguing in absolutes is just setting you up for failure.
Agreed - which is why you shouldn’t have argued in the first place - especially when you basically just admitted to agreeing with the person you were arguing with!
And yes, I am somewhat reinforcing what he said, you just want to argue about it for ego reasons.
Well, I think it’s pretty clear that that actually applies to YOU - and thanks for admitting I’m right :)

1. I didnt argue, you did. Congrats on creating an argument that didnt exist for the sake of your ego.
2. Cruise control - you must be young. This had a very low adoption rate. Folks were "scared" of a machine controlling speed. It had lots of criticism and folks who didnt want to sue it. Its an example of folks not adopting tech for various reasons. I know the point is missed on you because you are only interested in being right and not understanding the satement. I know your ego is very fragile and needs the boost.
3. You have done nothing but strawman and argue about something you created. I have notadmitted you are right because you havent said anything worth agreeing with. But much like all your responses here, its clear you just make it up as you go. Shocking.
4. You admitted not arguing in absolutes is the way to go so you are admitting I am right with the original state before you decided to inject yourself into our conversation. Wow. You are the ONLY one arguing.

Are you like 12? You create argument, then you try to act like you won argument and nobody was arguing. Its quite hilarious. Next time I will just move on from your childish antics. My fault for falling to another troll.

its like that meme about arguing with a trump supporter because they act like a pigeon playing chess. You can win the game and all they do is stomp around the board shitting all over the place acting like they won. Thats you.

I hope you have the day you deserve!

Go back and read your own post - you replied first…
As for cruise control, do some research… it has been standard for DECADES in most cars…

I never said any of it wasn't standard now. Please stop putting words in my mouth.

It makes talking with you infuriating and really just makes you seem like you are discussing in bad faith and not genuine.

You literally replied to me after I responded to Kirby. I did not reply to you first, YOU engaged ME. Everyone here can see that.
