Sony unveils the PlayStation 4, coming this holiday season

So since PS4 isn't backwards compatible, does that make first generation PS3's with full PS1 and PS2 hardware support and four USB ports worth a small fortune?

Simple answer? Yes, I bet they'd probably go for a couple of grand in a year or 2, but I don't understand why, who bought a load of PS1, PS2 and PS3 games without the hardware? surely plugging in a PS1 or PS2 or PS3 to play the relevant games would be much cheaper than getting a backwards compatible PS3?

Sweet - I've got two original Fat 60s... but I highly doubt anyone would give me nearly that kind of money if I were willing to sell them.

Pricing in Australia lists it as AU$899 without games, which are AU$119 each.

This was only a 'placeholder' price set by one retailer - EB Games. The only thing we can gather from this is that the company is very confident the price will not be more than $899AUD.

Did you even watch the Killzone Stream? The guy was on stage actually playing it with a Controller -_- same with Knack as well, in fact he came on stage with a PS Vita playing the game.

No, I didn't actually watch the stream, unfortunately. :(

Although, seeing a guy on a stage with a controller doesn't mean anything. Worst-case: he could have just rehearsed button/stick movements in time with the pre-rendered video. Middle: he was playing in real time, but not off an end-product-spec PS4 unit.

There's still no proof showing the capabilities of the PS4, simple as that. :(

True, on stage it doesn't but they did show it off after the show on tv to prove it really was running live:

And agreed we cannot say if this really is the PS4 hardware as they refuse to show us and all the controllers they use are wired, leading me to believe that the hardware behind the scenes is just a computer looking box which is actually a dev kit for the PS4, but surely they can't have taken 5 years to design the box?! I Genuinely believe what we are seeing will be exactly what they are offering at the moment, but I am worried this thing is super ugly at the fact they're being so secretive about it.

Also, you can watch the whole thing here:

And the 3 minute piss takes here! (if you watch the whole thing then these they are double as funny!)
