Star Wars KotOR II problem

I've been playing the game for a while but when i good a new pc and installed the game. after a battle in the game i can no longer move my char. Can anyone help me I have the power to run the game just this glitch. it will let me again if i save and reload

Try re installing, or try downloading the latest patch for it.
