The best gaming platform is where you feel good, where your friends and games are.
Pc Gaming is not dead, but if you want to play new games with someone without waiting 1/2 hour, you must go with Xbox One / PS4
Wow, that couldn't be more wrong. PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS queues instantly and dumps you into a game with 98 other people. How many crappy console games do 99-person lobbies? Overwatch also queues instantly.
As PC gaming become cheaper, and consoles become more expensive, as well as more and more similar to a PC, you will see more and more people migrating, or starting out with a computer. There will eventually come a day when the desktop computer goes away, but considering the number of old folks that grew up with the desk top, it's going to be around for a few more decades and since these retiree's are the one with the greatest amount of expendable income, the software and hardware folks would be wise to pay attention if they want to rake in the most bucks ......
No, that would be "The platform I like the best is". Not "The best platform is".The best gaming platform is where you feel good, where your friends and games are.

PC gaming is growing ever more relevant as the large crowd of young gamers grow up.

PC gaming becoming cheaper? PC gaming is more expensive than ever right now with all this mining craze. Impossible to get an AMD RX480/580/570/470 for less than 400 bucks, and the nvidia cards went up in price aswell because of that. That statement is pure BS.
PC gaming is as relevant as consoles. PC gaming is growing, just like console gaming is growing (check PS4 records beating any previous console, and Nintendo Switch aswell). Gaming is growing overall, is not an exclusive PC thing. Damn PC fanboys are so annoying with their broken arguments. Both platforms are good and fun to use. Get both to enjoy the best of 2 worlds. Get only one if that´s the one that interests you or goes according to your gamer needs. But stop pretending the one you choose is "better".
The PS2 is an anomally, created due to lackluster competition and over a decade on the market. 15+ years of sales add up quick. The wii pandered to a market that no longer exists thanks to smart phones.

Nonsense, Console gaming is not growing. PS4 is not beating previous records. And it will not beat PS2. And if you take this generation as a whole, it's the first gen that's not selling better in a richer world with more people with better access to information. Xbox sales are way down. Wii U has been a failure. Same btw goes to portables. This gen of portables selling a lot less than the last.
Switch had a good start, it will be lucky to match xbox. And even if it did, no way it's gonna sell 100M+, the way Wii did.
Btw, article comparing just one of distribution platforms one month's active users to a whole quarter to xbox. There's what 60M+ million playing hearthstone? Overwatch? WoW? And it's just blizzard's app. Uplay, GoG, etc, piracy..., China...
for my usage it doesnt have a single advantage over PC anymore. not even close really. On a day to day basis using the xbox is generally okay its just not what I would say "good".Funny because I am totally happy with my xbox as most people are. I used to be a pc fanboy but not after buying my xbox one. It has so many advantages over the pc.Im a pretty heavy xbox one user.
The xbox one had a terrible first year or two - the platform was pretty broken.
Phil spencer came along and fixed alot of things, but the platform is still medicre at best.
Exclusives are far and few (it hurts to watch what PS players get), the dashboard is a NIGHTMARE from most standpoints - its uglier than heck and counterintuitive, even after the several iterations of improvements.
Theres 100000 logisitcal annoyances. You have to be connected to internet to download a bluray player because its not preinstalled - same with CD player, etc. They last year added support for playing music in the backgrounds of your games, but software support for that is terrible. There is no spotify app currently (but rumors are we might finally get it). The store is miserable to navigate, and digitally purchasing backwards compatible 360 games feels like it was hacked in. For sales, game DLCs and currencies get their own listings, so you have to navigate through a sea of 400 different "character packs" or "XXXX points" to find games.
I guess the best way to put it is that the entire platform feels so unpolished. If it werent for my friends I'd have abandoned it already. Im not surprised steam is passing it - I feel like alot of the appeal of console over PC is gone if the simplicity and reliability goes away.
Yeah there are these 10 or so games that do well on PC. The rest is near dead after a few weeks after release.
The PS2 is an anomally, created due to lackluster competition and over a decade on the market. 15+ years of sales add up quick. The wii pandered to a market that no longer exists thanks to smart phones.
The Ps4 is selling quite well, and compared to typical console sales, is doing REALLY well. Dont compare to an anomaly.

But EVERY single one of us have grown up with the PC....

I've studied it. I concur with my post and quoting. Couldn't pick on my spelling? You might start expanding YOUR horizon by getting the proper quotes right ....
