In brief: Valve's annual Steam summer sale is in full swing with discounts on thousands of PC games for the next two weeks. Look close enough and you'll find some heavily discounted titles, and perhaps even a freebie or two.

The newly released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is already on sale, yours for a respectable $22.49. The PC version of the game has a solid score of 85 over on Metacritic and a user score of 8.9 out of a possible 10.

Those looking for deeper discounts might be interested in grabbing Resident Evil Village, Chrono Trigger, Half-Life: Alyx, Ghostwire: Tokyo or Red Dead Redemption II for half price. Hitman III, Ghostrunner, Mafia: Definitive Edition and Divinity: Original Sin II are all 60 percent off their usual price while Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, The Sims 4 and Prison Architect have been marked down by 75 percent.

Valve is practically giving away games like Just Cause 2, Payday 2, Fishing Adventure, Duke Nukem 3D and Sniper Elite 4 at 90 percent off, and Tell Me Why is free to keep if you claim it before July 1.

The Steam summer sale runs through July 7, but it's not the only show in town. Nintendo has also launched its Big Ol' Super Sale which wraps up a day earlier on July 6, and Meta's Oculus Quest summer sale will remain active until June 26.

Steam Summer Sale, save for whatever Epic has pillaged from the storefront. ****in' Tim Sweeney

Any recommendation for a good game ? I would like to play with great story and good visual. I already had RD2, Tom Raider, Wicher 3 and GTA V

I recommend going to other stores that have much better deals all year long and best Steam so-called deals easy every day, even on Steam sale event days.

Steam has not offered good deals in years and its so-called Event sales are no different than their mid-week/weekend deals.

There are way too many games and too many of the same type. What I think we need is a good dog as lumberjack game.

Guardians of the Galaxy seems to be getting good feedback when it comes to story and visual.
I believe it's 50% discounted right now.

Very bad advice. Even on a 50% sale, GOTG still underperforms, it fails to retain gamers, and GOTG still has some issues for many gamers, today, that Square Enix decides to close down threads that hurts GOTG from selling due to the truth.

Maybe try the Mass Effect Legendary Edition, which is 59% off now. You could also go for the Yakuza franchise, Far Cry, Bioshock, God of War, Batman or Tomb Raider.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition will be free on July 12 if you are a Prime member.
Thanks for the news, I'm a Prime member so I will have that game to my collection.

I also had the Horizon and Batman. Probably I will take a look at the Dishonored series.

I picked up trails of cold steel, and am enjoying it so far. I really like the battle system, as it reminds me of me of epic battles in Shining Force back on my Genesis. t The other thing I like: unlike most strategic turn-baaed games these days, these actually an over world to explore with Chrono trigger style visible enemies.

I'm liking a lot of games out falcom as-of-late. Ys 8 really impressed me with its re-imagining of all the other marginal games in the seres, and now a turn-based sttategy game that puts Disgaea to shame

Was just going to recommend Witcher 3 again... I just started playing it now, never gave it a chance... Really nice game, just think that all craft systems are a little too meh (and not being able to cook raw meat... w*f?...)... In a age where AAA game seems broken pretty badly, Witcher 3 seems like a homeage to well done AAA games, and it's not even that close to "perfect".

I've played Doom Eternal, it got Zero story telling, but the visual are damn good and the action is frenetic, Wolfenstein Youngblood is discounted right now, some people don't like that it took a step away from the shoot'em up that past Wolfenstein games used by addind some RPG like elements to it, so I think I would like to play it as much as I liked Witcher 3, and Wolfenstein Youngblood visual are gorgeous.

But Witcher and the likes are not really my type of game, so I'm not a good reference.

For Turn-based isommetric view fans, the newly released "Warhammer 40k Chaos Gate Demon Hunters" (... what with those long names... really...) is really good.

For anyone coming from XCom games, the gameplay is really close, I'm not really a fan of the space-medieval-gothic-retro-futurist art direction/style/theme of the Warhammer 40K IP, and also the UI feels a bit cluttered, but the gameplay really shines over it all, and I'm getting used to these cons. It's worth a shot even at 80% full price right now.

I heard that Red Dead Redemption II is supposed to be great. That's what I'm going to grab.
It's not supposed to be great, it is great. The story and the visual is just addictive. The only but is you need a beefy GPU in order to enjoy it smoothly.

God of War is immense. Played it earlier this year for the 1st time. Would happily start it again. Combat is super satisfying, story is great, looks stunning

Ha ha ha for sure, unless you wanna play it at 4k max settings xD
I honestly couldn't be bothered because I can't tell 1440p from 2160p in most games. Perhaps with the advent of Unreal Engine 5 it will make some kind of difference because right now, it all looks the same to me.

Maybe I'm just getting old.

I'm getting the same "it all looks the same" vibe from porn these days. But then again, I am old. and well past denying it

Wait until they start using Unreal Engine 5 for porn. It looks essentially photorealistic but I laugh when I think about it because I can't think of anything funnier than the idea of porn with uncanny valley in it!
