If you’re in the market for a gamepad for your iDevice and recent solutions from Logitech and MOGA didn’t fit the bill, perhaps the latest offering from SteelSeries will be more up your alley. The company correctly realized that not all iOS gamers own an iPhone and as such, they created the Stratus.

Unveiled at CES, the Stratus is the first wireless gamepad to support iOS. It connects to an iPad, iPhone or iPod touch using Bluetooth 2.1 and features four pressure-sensitive face buttons, four bumpers, two analog sticks and a traditional four-way directional pad.

The device is said to be lighter than its rivals due to the fact that it doesn’t have brackets or other methods used to attach the controller to an iPhone. SteelSeries tells us the Stratus is good for up to 10 hours of playing time on a single charge.

The Stratus might not be the best bet if you plan to do a lot of gaming on the go with your iPhone but for those using an iPad, it sounds like a winner. What’s more, one could use it to play against up to three other gamers with a device streaming to a television via AirPlay.

The SteelSeries Stratus is available for pre-order as of writing for $99.99 which conveniently enough, is the exact same asking price as the Logitech PowerShell and the MOGA Ace Power. It really all comes down to which solution works best for your gaming setup.

Yea, at $99, these game pads are quite expensive for what they really are especially when you consider an Xbox and PS4 controller costs 50 bucks.

But I like this on the best so far.
