System volume drive - HELP

Hi

I have 2 hard drives on my PC. I had to format them both and I firstly had to juggle data from one HDD to the other and back again. My problem is that I had to install XP on both drives to allow me to do this. Now I have 1 system volume drive and 1 boot drive. Becasue of this I can't format my original c: drive. I want to format it, change the partioning and change the drive letter. Can you please tell me how I do this...in plain english please as I am a novice.
