Tesla shareholders approve $1 trillion pay package for Elon Musk

Just mention Musk or Tesla and you get toxic posts… almost like Techspot knows this and want clicks…

People need to understand how compensation packages work. Tesla isn’t giving Musk 1 trillion dollars!!

In order to get this trillion, he has to increase their market cap from 1.5 trillion to 20 trillion…

If he can actually do that, he’d be worth WAY more than a trillion!

Like him or hate him, if he can increase an already wealthy company’s worth more than tenfold, wouldn’t he be worth virtually any price?!?

Knock it off with that logic, basic math, and common sense - there’s no place for that here!

Someone less polite than I am would have said you're obviously a simple man for making an issue out of this simple gesture of excitement.

Investors, however, mostly care about profits.
Elon Musk has a stellar record in that regard, pretty much anything he touches turns to gold.
You are of course free to keep hating him. Nothing depends on you. Keep the hate.

The only people who argue this are sympathizers. You don't have to like my stance, but you can't deny doing this:

is bad for business.

I am a simple man. I see someone do a Nazi salute, I consider them a Nazi.
Simple is the wrong word. An extremist would label political opponents as enemies by using deceptive propaganda, and you certainly are doing something similar to that, especially since you intentionally leave out spoken words said accompanying the video.

and that’s why you’re “simple” (you said it first)… maybe wake up and see the world isn’t black and white…

I’d only call someone a Nazi if their beliefs and/or actions aligned with the tenets of National Socialism…
those that fail history are too simple to understand why Nazis even added the word "socialism" to their name even though they despised socialists and constantly attacked them in the streets.

I personally believe billionaires should not exist, even more so for a trillion dollars going to one single person. Something is drastically wrong with a world that still allows millions to die from starvation, yet idealizes extreme selfishness. We need much more empathy and a lot less billionaires.

You can't replace Elon, he IS freaking Tesla. Without him you have nothing.

The only way you could replace him is if he died of natural causes like how it happened with Jobs and Apple, else he will be there forever, as he NEEDS to be there.

People don't like him for this or that, but the main reason they don't like him is because he is a freaking genius. Say what you will about him, but in the grand scheme of things, he is someone that will move this country (and quite frankly the world) forward instead of stagnating. He knows we need to reach the stars and that is what he is so pioneering for with SpaceX.

I for one am glad he is around and hope he is for many decades to come, as this world needs him, badly.
Have some more Kool Aid.

I have no doubt Musk has earned whatever his payout will be. The downside to this is money no longer has any real value when it is treated as cavalierly as this. The over valuation of the AI start-ups, Wall Street, etc., all compound this issue. It can only lead to very ugly outcomes.

There's an old adage: Actions speak louder than words.

When he starts sending Jews to the gas chambers - then I’ll call him a Nazi.
Maybe not, but his senseless, indiscriminate, and random terminating of federal workers, in many cases, without as much as the knowledge of their purpose, IMO gives him a damned good head start.

If he were let of his leash, it might actually come to that. After all, thy had to throw him out of Germany for meddling in their election. Reason? He's too far right.

You know, it's not so much as the salute, but the expression on his face when he does it.

Don't mind me though, I've only been trained in portrait photography. One paramount technique, "shoot for expression".

Can any of the musketeers here honestly categorize his expression as anything other than, "ferocious", or, "menacing"?

I have the feeling something is a bit of. Capitalism going too far... And still, there are people applauding for this.

Also funny: I just read an article that Tesla sales in Europe go down really hard.
AFAIK, it's even illegal to sell the "Cyberturd", (Sorry, "Cybertruck"). in the EU.

"AI Says"

The Tesla Cybertruck is effectively banned in Europe because its design violates strict pedestrian and road safety regulations and it has not received EU-type approval. Concerns include its sharp edges, rigid stainless steel body, and lack of energy-absorbing features, which would pose a significant risk to pedestrians in a collision. The vehicle's heavy weight and other features, like its side cameras instead of mirrors, also do not comply with EU standards.

"loony activist" is a suitable description for someone voting against their financial interest for the purposes of virtue signalling. By the way, if the result weren't clear in advance, those voting against Musk would be zero - they voted against him knowing perfectly well he will win and they will not lose money by showing off their tribe allegiance.

Oh .. and don't embarrass yourself with that Nazi nonsense.
Unfortunately that word, along with racist, fascist etc. completely lost its meaning. Today it merely means the woke dislike someone. That fools many people, especially young folks, to believe someone described as a Nazi / racist / fascist is a good guy simply because he's not woke, and they know nothing worse than being woke.
Yeah, "woke is worn out". Wanna guess who wore it out? I'll give you a hint, the same guy that says everything** is "fake news".

Hey, how about last Tuesday's elections? Lotta "wokesters" on the prowl that night, ay?

** Except every lie than comes out of his mouth.

Lot of people chimed in on this quickly 😂 Shareholders would most likely be Musk fanatics agreeing to whatever package deal came up as long as it wasn't too OTT!

Still I don't believe in excessive millionaires or billionaires or their philanthropy ridden bullsh#$ charity crap. It's so fake and hollow. I'd prefer wealthy elites to pay their employees better wages instead of pocketing the money. Improving people's lives especially when they commit x portion of theirs to building the company is showing respect and that is the right thing, the human thing to do. People never speak on that topic, I wonder why 🙄 Wanna be a cu#$ you'll pay for it some where, some how and I'm just saying that's how it is, whether in this life or the next.

There's actually a name for charity given by the social elites. It's called, "noblesse oblige". Literally, "obligation of nobility". (If you hadn't already guessed) It's been going on for centuries. What it amounts to is, Marie Antoinette baking and giving away a single cake, instead of saying, "let them eat cake".

Which is, for all intents and purposes the same as the current SNAP snafu , caused by the wannabe king inhabiting the once proud White House.

Hopefully, food stamp recipients have a few boxes of cake mix stashed away in their pantries. It does keep forever. Just because you can't afford eggs, icing, or sugar, doesn't mean they didn't give you the cake. So, "stop complaining". Bombs away.!

Can you give me one example of something that he’s done that is ‘genius’?

I’d only call someone a Nazi if their beliefs and/or actions aligned with the tenets of National Socialism… a coincidental salute that is similar to a Nazi salute (which in itself isn’t original - it dates back to the Roman Empire and it probably went back further than that), doesn’t count..

When he starts sending Jews to the gas chambers - then I’ll call him a Nazi.

This past week he paid the legal bills of a far right extremist in the UK and has repeatedly pushed for civil war in the UK despite knowing nothing of the country.

Of course there are many more examples and again, of course, he did two seig heil’s on live tv….it almost like you will never believe what is right in front of you eyes.

A brand reputation in tatters following Musks very public deranged ultra far-right behaviour making them a complete no-no for huge parts of the world (including the 50% of the US that haven't lost their collective minds). This share offering smacks of desperation from the board.
Quick update, in the US, it's down to 37% and falling. Yet I still can't fathom how many people can be that stubbornly stupid.

This would be a good time for "Elon", to do one of his magnanimous, (allegedly frequent), "charitable acts", and cut loose with a few billion toward food stamps

Overwhelmed by the cheering and adoration of the Maga cult crowd, a feeling he so unfamiliar with, the paper-thin veneer of decency dropped from Elon's mask and the true horror of what lies beneath rose up and could not be contained.

@OortCloud Well, sociology 101 is all coming back to me. The stages of true and perceived wealth are money, power, and lastly prestige. A person's belief system is is no way connected to his intelligence., and insatiable desires, along with lack of remorse, empathy, with the ability to control others, can all be linked back to sociopathy.

"Elon", has all the money and power to make 100s of people content and well fed for the next century.
He leads his fan trollz around like he's got a ring through their noses.

Where does prestige come in you wonder? Well, he's out gunning for Mustapha Mond's job..! Wouldn't that be the end of days? That's assuming "Trumpo the demented wonder clown" doesn't destroy the planet before he gets there.

And NO, Pluto is not a planet. It falls into the category of, "dwarf planet", because it doesn't have the ability to clear its orbital path. Incidentally, Ceres the former asteroid, is now considered a dwarf planet. That happened about the same time Pluto got its comeuppance, or demotion, whatever you want to call it.
