Recommending the Alienware AW2725Q is extraordinarily irresponsible.

The internet is *riddled* with reports of "Black Screen of Death" on this monitor, which is probably part of why it keeps going on fire sale.

Ultrawide monitors are so cool. But honestly, who can run a game at 3440 × 1440p 240Hz ?
I like simracing and it's very difficult to reach 120Hz with a decent GPU (6800 XT).

I think they're more aimed at someone like me. I'm almost never disappointed to be playing at "only" 120fps, but when I'm not on my ultrawide for work or movie watching, I'm very disappointed to not have the extra screen space. On the gaming side, I often force limit it to 16:9 anyway and use the sides for other purposes.

Agree, im running a 6800xt on 27" 1440p . Anything bigger screenwise means an expensive gpu upgrade. ARC raiders runs fine for me at plus 100 fps all the time.

If you play AAA single-player games and you're not using an Ultrawide (meaning 32:9), then you're seriously missing out. 16:9/16:10 is old school, and shouldn't really be used except as a secondary screen off to the side/above for web browsing/Discord/etc.

Solid roundup. For competitive gamers, especially FPS players, the 25–26″ size with 240Hz+ refresh still feels like the sweet spot for fast response times and focus. High refresh rate matters way more than 4K in esports titles. Nice to see good balance between performance and value in this list.
