The refresh label doesn't go after refreshing the desktop

Hi,
I have got an irritating problem with my desk top. Sometimes when I refresh or view properties of any item either the refresh label or properties label from that drop down menu doesn't disappear from my desk top and it is always on the top of every application and windows, unless the PC is restarted. Can anyone help me clear out this problem?
