Dear all,

A short background - I currently live in london and work for the civil service. As some will be aware the civil service does not have the highest of morale at the moment due to redundancies, changing of pensions, etc. I have always had a great interest in IT and have decided to follow into the private sector IT industry. I have basic GCSE and A-level qualifications but no Industry based qualifications.
I would like any people who may work or have knowledge of Human Resourses in the IT world and tell me if the following apprenticeship is worth its stuff.

Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship for IT & Telecoms Professionals
Qualifications gained:
  • Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
  • Certificate in ICT Systems and Principles
  • CompTIA A+
  • Microsoft Certified Technical Specialist (MCTS)
  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
  • Key skills in Application of Number and Communications Level 2
  • Employment Rights and Resposibilites

After being told i would have to wait 3 weeks for news of whether i would get the course i recieved a phone call the next day offering me a place - Due to this i have become slightly dubious.

Any thoughts or individual experience of this type of apprenticeship would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
