TiVo has reportedly won another $200 million in its lengthy patent suit against Dish Network and EchoStar. Previous rulings included, TiVo's prize package is estimated at around $400 million -- about $600 million less than they first sought. That figure could go up though, with Dish looking to appeal. Should the company fail in its attempt, the court may offer TiVo further retribution.

TiVo has accused its competitors of manufacturing and distributing DVR units that make use of TiVo's patented "Time Warp" technology, which allows users to pause, fast forward and rewind live TV. Dish has admitted knowledge to TiVo's patent from the get-go, but has argued that its original technology is a Time Warp workaround. In their appeal, Dish will focus on a preliminary rejection of Time Warp's patent.

TiVo is also seeking damages from AT&T and Verizon for patent infringement. According to TiVo CEO Tom Rogers, the company "will continue to pursue enforcement where necessary" to prevent the unpermitted use of its technology.

When is JVC going to sue TiVo? They happened to come up with this magical "pause" or "rewind" technology while TiVo executives were in diapers.

And you know what, I think that stuff existed before VCR's did... so its even that much more ridiculous.
