Trying to install Windows 7 and getting blue screens

just what it says, when I start to install Windows7 on a new hard drive I get an Error code: 0x80070017 I have tried several hard drives and get the same thing. Can someone tell me what the problem is, or are the hard drives just bad? everything in the computer is new except the processor and it has not given any problems until I started this, nothing is overclocked.

Probability is your DVD drive is struggling to read your Win7 media. If you have the downloaded ISO image from MS, please re-burn a DVD but on the slowest possible speed you can, and try again. If you have purchased the media, the only option left would be to get it replaced. Regards

Archean, I thought u were wrong, but I have 4 copies of Win7 and I got out another, pulled the hard drive out reformatted it in an XP system and installed Win7 with no problems and of course the no. for the disk that goes with this system is still good so thanks.
