Unable to download files from FTP server

hi, I'm having problems downloading files since an application crashed while in patching process. Ever since, I'm unable to download files such as
"ftp://gg:gg@download.gg-game.com/GGclientBeta1.3Install.exe"

i think there's a problem w/ my ftp.. the connection has timed out, can't download from ftp servers, i tried using internet explorer 7 and mozilla firefox 2 but no luck..

have you tried an ftp client
your firewall may be blocking port 20 and 21 check it

www.smartftp.com is a great, free FTP client and a good start in troubleshooting.

This might have something to do with a firewall. Most FTP clients have an option to use PASV (passive) mode, which may get you in... If a firewall is the problem.
