Unable to reload Windows 10 on Dell XPS 12

I have a Dell XPS 12 netbook that's not booting into Windows 10, possibly as a result of it having been dropped. The built in Dell diagnostics reveal no problem with the hardware. Normally it boots to a screen saying preparing for diagnostics and then just sits there with the revolving balls going round and round, I have left it for over 4 hours without any change. I have tried to do some sort of repair using both a Windows 10 on USB and DVD, the USB asks me if I want 32 or 64 bit windows, loads some software and then gets to a screen with the blue window icon and the revolving balls but no further even after leaving it for hours. The DVD is similar except it asks me to hit any key to boot from the disc, loads some software and then gets to the above screen and sits there. I have taken the back off the netbook, checked connections, reseated the ssd but still no success.
Before I give up on it have you guys any other suggestions?
