Unable to remove

am asking this on behalf of a friend....had the problem myself, but I can't remember how I fixed it. When using Internet Explorer, if one goes to tools/options, you should be able to delete history,files and cookies. Try as hard as you like, some files will just not disappear. If I go to Control Panel , Internet and attempt to delete from there, same problem.

CCleaner should remove just about everything. A lot of sites are now using flash cookies but if you look up how to remove flash cookies it's pretty simple to get rid of them too.

More important than the problem you describe is to get IE8 instead of IE7, in the interests of security.

As regards clearing superfluous files, a number of mostly free tools will do, like the CCleaner mentioned above. To stand best chance, close the IE and other apps before running the cleaning tool.
