that kinda explains it..greens are only good for data/backup(but still even for that there bad) and never should run os from them. blue are the lowest you should go..but still not too trusty. im running mine with a wd red 1tb

well since I dont have the money to upgrade this thing I just had to run with what I had.

yea I know the feeling..but I guess thats why we are here..for the hope of an upgrade cant afford upgrading mine ether..did what upgrades I could. but still doesn't cut it anymore, tried some newer games and got like 6fps avg and 10fps max..(I use it for music prod and games..or atleast try to)

I am getting a bit more on the brand new games, but still only like 14-20 intel is pretty good for making processors though.

Music production on an FX-6300? I know someone who has an excavator 8-core and still has immense issues with his cpu. Yeah, that guy's definitely getting my vote.

As I read thru this topic I realize how cool this Contest is for someone to keep there system working.All the entries deserve a hats off and Good luck.Being a guy that has been into pc's since they had only green screens ( I have an old green screen upstairs I used to use for reading Microfiche).I think it is very nice for Techspot and Hardware Unboxed to give back like this.While I don't think someone like me with a 7700k on a Z270 chipset should enter this I will do the next best thing and help vote.Hats off to those that made this possible.

shipping would cost nothing.. since they will be purchased at your closest store to pick them up.. so only cost would be the gas to drive to go pick them up

its the newest thing in my computer, aside from the power supply which was brand new 3 months ago, and its a gtx 970, but it way limited by my cpu

haha I thought id hear that..well the 970 beats the crap of my gt610..although its ram is kinda there its cooling is terrible..like temps 35-40 idle but just by launching a game shoots up 70-72 instantly.. my phenom probably could run a 970..but would be bottlenecked by the mobo. my mobo is a bottleneck even for the gt610..and prety much a bottleneck for everything else on my pc XD

lol its the same, though probably not as bad, for my mobo since it still is an intel and nvidia board its 'enthusiast' grade, but from 2007.

your 970 is still beter than the 610 you got 4gigs I only got 2gigs..plus only the cooler of the 970 is 3 times biger than the whole 610.. its good for youtube and minecraft or something anything else nope! the kinda threw a piece of tinfoil and fan on it and called it a day. if you really think the 610 is similar or better than the 970 no problem to swap it..its fps is great..like 10 or so XD

My vote is for Mason's "Old Boy" because I know what it's like to upgrade pre-built from retailer PC's because you're too broke to afford all new components.
