@Steve I actually for once disagree with your decission on the first PC. buying a new haswell CPU is a huge waste just to keep the motherboard. That PC is a prime candidat for used parts upgrad. The same CPU should be less than half used.
I know the series is only new parts but I would highly suggest refering him to used parts upgrade.

Coffee pot, while I feel sorry for people stuck with an i3, a 6300 is just the pits for anything more than casual browsing and the upgrades will make a very weak system, much better all round.

White Knight gets my vote - that case is pretty epic and it's really hanging together with hand-me-down parts, making me feel pretty good about my own old rig! He certainly can do with a nice upgrade to suit that case .. that just somehow keeps reminding me of an original Battle Star Galactica Centurion?
