Upgraded to Win7 - various audio not working

If it's not one thing, it's another... I'm having a bad week with audio it seems.

On my main PC, I upgraded to Windows 7 a couple of weeks back. Now, skype is failling, ventrilo is failing. After doing a little research, ventrilo FAQ's confirmed what i suspected: There is something seriously wrong with your sound card drivers or sound mixer configuration. ...

Here is what I have as far as audio / mobo
MOTHERBOARD: Asus P6T SE Intel X58 Chipset CrossFireX Mainboard Triple-Channel DDR3/1600 SATA RAID w/ eSATA,GbLAN,USB2.0,IEEE1394a,&7.1Audio
(TechSpot reviewed it highly and I went for it!)

I did find this for drivers...

but I'm not familiar with this site, and as I mentioned in another thread, I'm not very well versed in Mobo/Sound card driver updating, etc.

Can one of you kind techspot folks point me in the right direction?

OK~ I haven't given up on my own search and it dawned on me to just go to the asus site! genious ain't I? LOL

Is it safe for me to just download the audio drivers for this mobo and proceed?
