Hi
I have read all of the threads on flash drive errors and have not come across anyone with a similar error to mine.

my flash drive was corrupted (RAW file system) and i reformatted it using the bgrescue linux boot cd method in these forums.

i have now reformatted it using the windows disk manager and it works perfectly when connected but after it is removed and reconnected to the pc it shows no files or folders on the drive. It even shows that the space is used on the disk. just doesnt display any files.

when i try and use U-storage.exe the tool that came with the drive. it cant find the drive but windows uses it fine.

please help me as this is a new drive.

thanks in advance

Welcome to Techspot !
When you reformatted back to windows you may not have set the drive properly. Each company is a little different but basically they need a small app(permanently installed) to maintain Data and system functions, etc. to work in different machines. I suggest you go to the manufacturer's website and confirm the correct way to reset the unit and how to install it's setup file.

hum; USB thumbdrives come preformated in FAT32 to provide the widest access
across the most OS systems (Windows,Mac,Unix,Linux). Make sure you format
likewise.

My USB TD did not come with any such 'small app' as it wasn't necessary.
Neither did my portable 120gb USB external drive.

Some vendors may do other strange and 'wonder' things however.
