USB stick to TV for viewing

I have 11 year old samsung smart tv. I have home movies on a USB stick. Is there a device to allow me to plug it into one of the HDMI slots?

There are converters with usb and HDMI at each end but it's doubtful that will work because they are aimed at connecting a PC to a TV. You could keep trying different connectors and send them back for a refund when they don't work or buy a new TV. There are also smart boxes that you plug into a TV which will take a usb stick. Have a look at streamers with a usb port like those made by Roku, Amazon or Nokia.

If you have a dvd or blu-ray player with a usb port, if it's one that will accept input and not just be used for a charger, sometimes they will work.
