Using Windows XP home. I am an administrator with a username. After a recent update by Windows and/or McAfee Virusscan, I have started getting a message when I try to manage users: "Username not recognized. Please restart computer." (or something close to that).
When it first happened, I backed back about 2 weeks using system restore, and the problem disappeared. Now that "fix" is not working. It only manifests itself as a problem when I try to manage other users' accounts on the home computer. Otherwise, Windows still recognizes me as an administrator for operational issues.
Anyone run across this problem before? Any suggested fixes?
