I'm sure you guys get new people every day who post their hijack this file and plead for help, and sadly I may be one of them. Apologies beforehand.

I got this random pop-up I'd never seen before telling me I had the above virus on my computer and I should click some such-and-such link to get rid of it. Rather than doing that, I wrote down the virus name, googled it, found y'alls site, and saw that someone else had already encountered this as well. So I followed most of the blanket instructions I found on there, and now I'm here, just wondering if someone could take a look at my fresh HJT log and see if I've missed anything.

Post a fresh HJT log into this thread, only after doing the above.

Okay, did everything you requested, here's the new log....

You`re not running any antivirus or firewall software.

Download the free AVG antivirus programme and either the free Zonealarm or the free Kerio firewall programmes from HERE, HERE and HERE.

Install whichever firewall you choose first, followed by AVG. Reboot your system the required number of times and run the AVG updates.


Boot into safe mode, under your normal user name. See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how here.> http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Run a full system scan with AVG and delete whatever it finds.

Reboot into normal mode and turn system restore back on.


Download the Pocket Killbox programme from HERE. Extract it but don`t run it yet, we`ll need it later.

Go HERE and follow the instructions for Ewido.

Once done, post a fresh HJT log and the Ewido log.
