Weekend Open Forum: What's your favorite video game of all time?

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time

Epic story telling, epic gameplay and epic graphics for it's time.

I see most commentators here are of newer generation who have not played Games like Half-Life 1 or Need for Speed 2 SE. We could almost feel developer's passion pouring out of their games.

Now a days it's just too commercial and no soul. Sorry for sounding so deep. I am 28 and already feel too old for games.

This is difficult! I would have to say Duke Nukem 3D...or the original DOOM. More recent I am in love with World of tanks, an absolutely amazing game!

A true gamer doesnt have a favorite game of all time but instead a long list of games
Nobody cares about your definition of a true gamer. Being a true gamer is not an accomplishment anyway and this thread is for everyone not just for true gamers so why did you even care to post that? Actually, I don't care about that either.

Left 4 Dead 2, Battlefield 3 and 4 are my favourite games of all time with over 4000 hours played between them.

First console I remember playing: Colecovision

Crysis, the whole series, particularly Crysis 3.
GTA SA
and on the NFS side of things, Most Wanted (2005)

Where do I even start, right? It's not just the game that matters to me, but also the situation. Knights of the Old Republic is the best single player experience I've had. Resident Evil 5 is the best co-op experience I've had. Tribes 2 is the most fun online FPS I've ever played. Gathering a bunch of friends for a week long Diablo II LAN party is also one of my fondest gaming memories.

I remember being really sick one new years eve (many years ago). I wheeled my desk over to the couch and packed myself in with eight blankets and wore a hat. I gobbled up a bunch of really groovy painkillers. My thermostat was set to 30c, so my CPU fan was screaming for dear life as the CPU was basically on fire! I sat there, all alone, playing Knights of the Old Republic all day long. I still consider that the best gaming experience I've ever had.

Resident Evil The Directors Cut. I had just got out of the military and I took a month off and bought a PS1 and a bunch of games. The hair would stand up on the back of my neck when I played that game late at night in my dark living room. Great game!

StarCraft II or Command & Conquer Gold, both RTS's of a different generation. So probably C&C and then SC2 ;)

How do you choose favorite of all time? Holy fricken gee wiz... My childhood obsession is Final Fantasy VI. Besides that, I don't really know what I'd put out there. I mean I wouldn't know which Ratchet and Clank I could possibly elevate over another. Something ps2 era probably. Maybe I'd suggest Kingdom Hearts 1. Or should I go with the misunderstood Final Fantasy XIII that I replay every year.

Battlefield 3 multiplayer. For me it was well over a thousand hours of fun and frustration. It also taught me about weapon terminology and all the kinds of guns military people use.

Bwahahaha....

Ps1: dinocrisis 2, crash dash...bash...bandicoot, medievil 1&2
Ps2: shadow of the colossus, gta SA, final fantasy XII, God of war 1&2.
Psp: Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, ff crisis core.
Nothing beats these games :)

1. Planescape Torment
2. Diablo
3.World of Warcraft
4.Never Winter
5.Unreal Tournament
6.Quake 2
7.Doom 3
8. Tomb Raider
9. RBI Baseball
10. Streets of Rage

Honorable mentions: Home World, Return To Castle Wolfenstein, Resident Evil 1 and 2, Splinter Cell, Ground Control and a few more. I love gaming!
