What does your desktop look like?

and you have Windows XP Home Edition Build 2600, bla bla bla in the bottom right hand corner...whats up with that?

You can enable Windows version display on desktop in HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop\PaintDesktopVersion

BlueCurve 4.3 released. :)

You can easilly get the same by running two cards. Which is what I used to do when I had a GF3ti200, I added a PCI card for the 2nd screen.

you can really do that? that's cool. I dont really like the idea of having two monitors off of one card, even the latest cards. I tried it on my 9700pro and the card got so unbelievably hot, it also happens with my 9800pro. The life expectancy of the card will probably drop by quite a bit so I might consider doing that.

Cheers Didou :)

I don't think it would have a very big hit on the card's life expectancy. Having the card do 2D for two screens can't be more demanding then doing Full 3D IMO.

& besides DualView is really mainstream now to the point where they're starting to integrate it in games, so I'm sure they take the time to test their cards in DualView environments & see how they cope with it.

yeh, i guess you're right. But, I was thinking about using the two screens for games you know? You get all of your mates round to watch and play alternativly, but there isn't a good view for some people on just the 1 monitor so you use two monitors quite a bit apart.

It's great but as I've said I dont like the heat coming off the card.

:(

It's really not a big stress on the card but if you don't feel safe with it, so be it, it's your hardware after all.;)

Anyways back to the topic, we want more desktops !!! :D

To answer Didou's call and amaze the hell out of everyone with another one of my fancy desktops..

hmm hope that works..

In any case, thats my desktop for the moment. I run dual flat panels off my geforce fx5700 ultra. Never had any issues with it overheating.

I threw the wallpaper together using the renders found at www.guildwars.com was kind if tedious to mask out the characters.

I've never found a good site for dual screen wallpapers, so Im forced to make my own. I've been to all the popular sites like deviantart etc but most of the ones I find are either stretched images or abstract stuff that you can't really tell if its been stretched or not. Anyone got a good site for dual screen wallpapers?

Since I only use my ATI card(s) for dual display I can't be of any help :( At least you can use different desktop wallpapers for each desktop. If I find anything I'll post it here - I used to have some a while back when I used to run dual on my nVidia cards.

Trying out XP

Busy version with a few windows open... ( it's generally much worse then that )

A cleaner version...
