I've ever had a problem with HP. As far as I'm concernd they're a geat comany.
Are you using a HP keyboard? :D

As for the print heads, on Canons the print head is removeable but not part of the cartridge and can be replaced if necessary i think. Much better than either HP or Epson then.

HP cartridges also gum up easier. My father has had several HP printers. I always went went Canon. I fianally got a Canon for him.

Espon is crap if you ask me. A friend of mine has gone throw three of them in the last year. :hotbounce

epson makes good printers, which are generally unproblematic. hp got caught awhile back setting cartriges to go dead at a predetermined date rather then run until the cartridge is all used up. they attempted to increase thier profits at the consumer's expense. hp also makes the horrific pavillion desktops...

I don't consider their printers that good. After all the print head is built into the ink cartridge - a horrible engineering design from a consumer standpoint. That is why the damn cartridges cost so much to replace in addition to overpriced ink. Ink is a real pain to refill in their tanks. The ink fiasco - well - they learned their lesson in a lawsuit.

My old school had 2 colour inkjets, always jamming, ink cartridges lasted a fair while considering we were told to print out pages of solid colour, neither could pull paper in straight, rollers clearly didn't run at the same speed, etc.

Local David Jones department store told us they stopped selling Lexmark printers after it got to the point where 1 in 3 were returned with problems.

I got my Pixma iP4000R today!

The setup and install was rather painly. Took me about an hour to install on 2 desktop and 3 laptops.
I like that the printer head can be changed or replaced... very nice.
Prints great pictures, & very fast.

And the wireless is sweet... :p

Thanks,

dreck
