There are several Intel 975x boards that look very similar and i'm curious to know what the difference between them is.

Intel D975XBX and D975XBXLKR. Whats the difference between these 2?

Intel D975XBX2 and D975XBX2KR, there is also a BLKD975XBX2KR how are they different?

Can someone help me figure this out?

I think, hmm should be design difference or some compatibility different (viiv, essential series, business series, etc.) I think you should check in the Intel website or the box (behind my intel mobo box there's a table comparing each mobo specialty)

I've done more research and i found out more about them

Intel D975XBX2: there are 2 variations of it BOX/BLKD975XBX2KR (its the same board BLK stands for Bulk) and LAD975XBX2LKR. The latter is the budget version of the first with less features. Complete list can be found here if anyone is interested:http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/bx2/bx2_available.htm

Intel D975XBX and D975XBXLKR, i think its the same board as well, but i couldnt find anything on intels page. The difference between XBX and XBX2 again the latter has more features.
