Which of theese should run better

The build in my specs or the following laptop I picked up cheap for my son.

AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core Processor
Asus M2A-MX
4GB DDR2 (2x2GB) PC2 6400 800Mhz
ATI Radeon HD 4650 (1GB)
Hitachi SATA 500GB

Intel® Core 2 Duo Processor T5800 2.00 GHz
3GB DDR2 RAM (800 MHz)
Mobile Intel® GMA 4500MHD Graphics
320 GB HD (don't know make)
running Windows Vista® Home Premium

Just wondering as although I have done no benchmarking, the laptop seems to run faster than the pc (opens progs faster, converts video files faster etc)

I would have thought so. Is there a good program I can run on both to benchmark and get an overall score to compare them.
