So I start Win11 in a VM, and it runs windows updates, windows store updates, updates antivirus and antispyware definitions, runs a defender scan, runs an updater for edge, one for OneDrive (even though I of course am not using it), and I think yet another 'one application' updater but I forget what for. And SFC (system file check). Generally running multiple jobs simultaneously.
THAT is the kind of thing making Windows so bad on an 8GB system.
Linux? Snap updates (if you use Ubuntu), system updates Optionally file indexing. It does make sure these 3 items never run simultaneously. And all 3 can be turned off.
