Windows 98 Only Boots in Safe Mode..Help

My brother says that his windows 98 pc only boots in safe mode. He is getting an error message about his registry. I thought he might have a corrupted registry. Should he boot into the command prompt and type scanreg/restore? Is that the proper command for windows 98? What can he do to fix his registry or is something else wrong? Please give me your feeback! Thanks.

Did you ever get this solved? You might try scanning for virii and spyware in safemode.

Yes scanreg /restore is the correct syntax. Note the space between scanreg and the forward slash. Also this has to be run from dos and not a command window.
