Windows boot issue

some one help me i was using a broadband internet modem from cricket. when i disconnected it my whole computer shut down and when i tried to turn it back on it stayed on the windows logo and it says the know when it shows the <f10> at the bottom and just wont start up. its a compact from like 2002-2004, one of those years windows xp little under a gig of ram, 32gb of mem on the hard drive.

How exactly did you go about disconnecting the modem?

i go down to the bottom right to the quick access link, right click and disconnect

i dont know if this helps but it was always on for about a week or 2
