Hello 
Every time my pc tries to load windows98 this message appears followed by a blue screen and sometimes afterwards automatically turns the pc off:
Windows Protection Error. You need to restart your computer
im using W98, PIII 550mghz, 320 RAM
i have tried to restore a previous and healthier version of the registry, and after doing it i still get the same message and the blue screen. I can boot to safe mode but nothing else. i have tried to boot without autoexec, config and i unchecked all the start programs at msconfig, and you guessed it, without any change, still getting the damn blue screen. I cant remember installing any new program or hardware, i have run updated AV without results, what else can a man do before losing his sanity?
Please help, theres a place in heaven for the person who can help me. If you need any more info about the problem ill gladly add it to the post, just ask.

P.S: i just tried to delete the network settings and unplug my cable modem (like i saw one user did when he encontered the same windows protection error), then reboot, and of course no success!
