Windows will not come up

Up until last nite my desktop was working fine. I shutdown normally and powered off the cpu and monitor. The cable modem and router are left on for other computers in the house to access. This morning when I powered on the cpu - the HP logo came up and then the Windows XP logo came up with the moving progress bar and then the computer continually restarted itself. WIndows will not come up in safe mode or regular mode. I realize I will probably have to re-image the hard drive but is there any way to save some of the personal data I have on the computer =- specifically a directory of photos......

to save the data you could add the hard drive as a slave to another pc, and then copy the info off it.
