XP install stuck

I'm trying to reinstall winxp on my PC, but it on detecting new hardware...it was stuck on that part forever...

My pc is A8n-sli
cpu amd 3000+
video card geforce 7600gs
2 parale ata hardrive
3 sata hardrive

should I remove most non-impartant device? thanks.

try to disable plug in play from bios

How many optical drives do you have? You know that you can only attach six devices from a combination of ATA and SATA dont you?
