Audio problem: No sound device

I cannot get the sound to work on my laptop. In the sound menu it says there is no device. I have downloaded Realtek soundcard, and it still doesn't work (no device).

My laptop is acer TravelMate c300 and I use Windows XP.

Help!?

Without knowing what laptop you have and what windows version you have, helping you out is impossible.

I have downloaded he file and entered 'setup'. The message said that it had installed, but still no sound. Is there a problem with comp? Also some keys on board work on and off, is it related??

Try removing all audio drivers via device manager, rebooting, then installing the new one and see if that helps.
