I have a dell pc, and after I get past the dell logo when I am booting up, it says that a file is missing or is corrupt. The file is /windows/system32/config/system. How do I fix this?

can you boot in safe mode? If you can run CHDSK on your hard disk.

Otherwise you'll need the set up disc to make repairs. You may need to order/buy it from DELL

I cant boot in safe mode, but I do have the windows xp disk. Its a dvd and I dont know how to boot from it.

Robgamer, go into your BIOS and change your boot order, set the cdrom as the first priority, then the floppy and then the HDD. put in your disk, then hopefully for you it will boot up.
